- Improving reading comprehension scores to grade level by third grade year to ensure success throughout the academic career
- Providing career academies for middle grades to offer alternative curriculum choices for interested students
- Encouraging a seamless approach to education curriculum from grade school to career choice
- Maintaining a solid manufacturing base which provides high-tech jobs and encourages a sound economic tax structure
- Providing incentives for industrial opportunities to facilitate economic growth
- Finding alternative sources for funding transportation systems
- Soliciting private sector support for transportation projects by including appropriate incentives and assistance
- Supporting the position of using a portion of fuel tax funds to facilitate transportation projects
